A zipper is built into the cord, presumably from the audio jack up to an inch or so from the earphone buds themselves. The volume controls are integrated into the zip pull, which requires twisting to adjust the volume. To prevent accidental volume changes, a button to nullify the function of the volume changer is built-in on the same zipper pull. Talk about efficient. The distance between the left and right earphone bud would adjust with a simple pull and not the usual hold-and-tug adjustment that all earphones producers in the market are presently doing.
